Riponian Stages Rally

The Riponian started life in November 1969 as a road rally, continuing as such until 1986 when it changed direction to become a stage rally using private roads and farm tracks.

Access to forestry land became available to the event in the mid 1990’s and it continues in the Yorkshire forest to this day.
 

On its 50th Anniversary in 2019, the event made use of  the new closed-road legislation to link two short sections of forest with a public road, which proved a huge success.

The Riponian Stages is currently the first round of the British Historic Rally Championship.
